Bangladesh is interested in providing services to Uzbekistan in IT
Bangladesh has assured cooperation in the information technology and pharmaceuticals sector of Uzbekistan, a Central Asian country. AK Abdul Momen, the foreign minister of Bangladesh, who is visiting the country, has promised to enrich the country's information technology sector through hardware and software engineers and freelancers.
In return, the government of Uzbekistan has expressed interest in providing cotton and yarn for the garment industry of Bangladesh.
According to sources, after a meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on July 18, a number of important Deputy Ministers and State Ministers, including Sadikov Shukhrat Muhamadjanovich, Minister for the development of information technologies and communications, met with Foreign Minister Abdul Momen to work out a roadmap for the implementation of the plan.
Regarding the meeting back in Dhaka after the conference, the foreign minister said, "I told them we have a lot of young people. "They are hard workers. There are 6 lakh IT experts who are gaining a reputation by freelancing worldwide. You can take them. Because IT is very important for connectivity.
“Their IT minister came at that time. I told him, we will make connections with the IT Minister of our country. We transact money through IT, we offer vehicle registration. All our banks run through IT. Our experts will come and show you everything. We have taught not only ourselves but also many in South Asia, especially Nepal ...”, added the Foreign Minister.
More than 250 delegates from about 40 countries attended the conference, entitled Central and South Asian Connectivity Opportunity and Challenge. At the meeting, it was decided to open a consulate in Dhaka and increase communication with Bangladesh.
